Looks like they went the Mustang route in this rendering. The Malibu grill is ooogly...

This can't be what it will actually look like. That front end is beyond fugly.

I'm about 99% sure that's just a squished photo (left the length of the pic alone but compressed the height) of the super cool 130R.

It looks like an Oldsmobile concept car.

Stretched, but yeah, totally the same.

I think the conversation at GM went something like this:
"Ford just revealed the new Mustang, it has sleek fancy headlights and a fugly grill taken from their full-size sedan."
"Well then, let's do the same thing!"

I'll never understand why car magazines even bother with third party renderings.

First time I've seen it, so hopefully they've moved beyond that grille by now

I doubt they'd throw away the iconic shape of the existing Camaro that readily. Parts of the new Mustang were influenced by the addition of IRS, something the 'maro already has. This render looks like Mustang headlights stuck on a Chevy Sonic grille.

That is horrid. Just when they'd made a decent looking one after so many years.

I'm told it's an old render

I'm 80% sure this is what it'll actually look like.

That's a squished and stretched 130R concept. The new Camaro, judging from spy-shots, looks to retain a lot of the 5th gen's styling.

Sure, somebody else mentioned that. There's another spy shot in the thread too. Much better looking car, and maybe closer to the production vehicle.

Yeah, that's a "render" (shop, really) from Car and Driver back in April...of 2013.

Only 80% sure?
PS, this is proper way to do a third party render.
